Itinerary

Leaving Hobart, we’ll travel through the scenic Coal River Valley, a region famous for its picturesque vineyards and farmland, stopping briefly in the city of Richmond (known as Australia’s best-preserved colonial village). Then towards the Tasman Peninsula.

At Pirate’s Bay we’ll enjoy panoramic views of the sheer cliffs and coastline from Eaglehawk Neck to Cape Huay. Our first taste of the Tasmanian National Park is an easy scenic clifftop walk to Waterfall Bay, named for the waterfalls that tumble from the towering cliffs into the sea.

Also experience the geological wonders of Tasmania Arch and Devil’s Kitchen, which are formed by the mighty Southern Ocean.

Our next walk begins at the impressive Remarkable Cave, with Australia’s tallest sea cliffs at Cape Raoul visible in the distance. This attainable walk back to Crescent Bay brings all the good vibes of nature, and on a clear day, Tasmania Island and Cape Pillar offer spectacular coastal scenery visible from the sandy shores of Crescent Bay. Relax, scale the steep sand dunes, or have fun on the shore before making your way back to the start.

Throughout the day we will look for wedge-tailed eagles, dolphins and other wildlife. This tour is best suited for those in moderate walking fitness, though people looking for a slower day are easily accommodated.
